I often travel to Albany, Georgia for business. For those of you who may not know much about the city of Albany, it is about 3 hours southwest of Atlanta. And every time I’m there I always have an opportunity to experience something different. During my last visit, I was introduced to Resora at Cypress Pond, an old plantation property now turned into an event space/nature retreat experience. There lies a beautiful main house (over 100 years old) and multiple lakeside cabins that sit on over 1,600 acres of land.
Now, what struck me the most about this property was the beauty of the interior main house. When people say, “they just don’t build things like they use to,” its certainly true. The architectural detail of this house (i.e., crown molding, fireplaces, original light fixtures, hard wood floors, door knobs, etc.) took my breath way; so much so that I had to write a blog post about it.
And I have plenty of pictures to share with you.
Master Bedroom (check out the clawfoot tub and the custom closet)!
So if you love to be one with nature or if you are looking for some historic design inspiration, check out The Resort Experience. I was certainly inspired by my visit there.
