Fireplace Reface

My husband and I purchased a builder grade home that didn't offer a ton of choices for customized. One placed that I compromised on was the stone fireplace. I hated it with a passion. It reminded me of a house that was built in the 1980's, it didn't go with the style of the house and it was the center of attention in the family room. In building our house, there was no option to change it out. So when I started working on my family room makeover, the first thing I wanted to do was to reface the fireplace.

Now this was a project where I needed to hire help. It was beyond my skill set to remove large stones mounted to the wall, so I hired a contractor to tear down the fireplace and rebuild a more simplistic fireplace. Plus I added a tile surround.

In the end it fireplace turned into...

I can't wait to add the finishing touches to my family room and show you the end result. If you didn't notice, things in my house are always a work in progress!
