Hall Tree?

One question I often hear when I tell people to place their coats on the hall tree in our mudroom: What is a hall tree? I usually answer with a visual, physical demonstration. I sit back for the next question: where did you get this thing? Proudly tell them that my husband, Burt built it as his first solo project for our home. They usually don’t believe me. But they don’t have to believe me. I remember the many nights he spent in the garage, the trips to The Home Depot or Lowes (whichever was closer) and all the darn dust in the garage.

Here is a recount of his hard work. I must say, that every day I come home at out coat on the rack, I am proud of my man.
